"Fairy Godmother Tycoon" Tips
"Fairy Godmother Tycoon" is a turn-based computer game that challenges the player to maintain a potion shop in a fantasy fairy-tale world. You must use basic economics to purchase ingredients, create potions and make a profit to beat your potion-making competition. Researching new spells and potions, appealing to your customers and managing your supplies and money well are the keys to becoming a tycoon.

Game Pacing
-
Your competition will have more resources and customers than you from the start, so focus first on upgrading your storefront and establishing a foundation of sales. Because you do not start with a lot of money, you must balance how much money you spend on stocking up ingredients and researching new potions. Purchase the "Flying Monkeys" for advertising help on your first turn.
Managing Inventory
-
Buy basic stock of 15 to 20 of each potion ingredient on your first turn. Early on, you must keep that much stock around since you never know which potions customers will suddenly demand. As you gain more customers, increase this base number of inventory. When you see a potion's name turn green, this means that potion is on sale for a significantly reduced price. Purchase as many potions as you can during this time and sell them later for a profit.
-
Making Customers Happy
-
Charge more to sell the potion than you paid for it, but not much more. While you should never sell below minimum recommended price, your customers will leave the store if you ask too much for your potions. Also, upgrade your storefront and potion-making machine as soon as you can afford to. This will raise the environmental happiness level and prevent your customers from standing in line for too long.
Research
-
You must always have research underway to discover the next best spell or potion before your competition. However, research can be costly, and you will need to constantly balance the cost of it against your profits. Try to spend between $20 to $50 a day minimum on research. Invest money from profits into extra research.
Special Events
-
Well-known fairy tale characters, such as Three Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood or Cinderella, will appear randomly and trigger a special event. The game will prompt you to make decisions about the outcome of this event. There is no rhyme or reason to these events, but, if you choose correctly, you will receive free gifts or even upgrades. If you don't choose wisely, you could lose some of your inventory.
