Student Gifts From Teachers

Student Gifts From Teachers thumbnail
While school supplies aren't really exciting, children still enjoy receiving them.

Teachers can give out gifts during the year very inexpensively. Christmas and the end of the year are perfect for passing out little gifts. Because teachers often have several dozen students to purchase for, the gifts need to be inexpensive but enjoyable for the children.

  1. School Supplies

    • Pencils, pens, rulers and erasers make excellent gifts for students. You can purchase cheap pencils with the students' names imprinted on them very inexpensively. Erasers in different shapes are easy to find in school supply stores for pennies each, and make a fun surprise. Many school supply stores and online retailers make buying in bulk cheap, so it shouldn't break the bank to pass out these supplies.

    Christmas Stocking

    • Purchase a small Christmas stocking at a dollar store. Write the students' names on the top with glue and sprinkle it with glitter. Once dry, fill the stocking with a small toy, some chocolate candy and a candy cane. Pass these out to the students on the last day of school before Christmas break.

    Play Dough

    • Purchase the small cannisters of play dough from the store and pass one out to each student. Alternatively, you can make your own play dough at home and bring it in to class in plastic bags. This works well as a gift on a party day because it can calm students down near the end of class if they play at their desk with the play dough. Include one or two cookie cutters with the play dough so the students can make shapes.

    Bookmark, Poem or Letter

    • Cut a piece of paper about 2 inches wide and 8 inches high. Draw a picture, write a poem or note or put stickers on the paper. Laminate the paper on both sides and punch a hole in the top. Thread a ribbon through the hole to finish off the bookmark. This is a good way to encourage students to read through the summer.

You can write a poem or personal letter to each student, as well. Make sure the letter is personal to each child; this can take a while, so don't leave it to the night before you want to give them out.
