Valentine's Day can bring warm fuzzy feelings of love for your special honey, but it can also bring butterflies of nervousness over what to give him. You don't want to arrive at the day with nothing to show your love for your boyfriend. Think ahead; there are plenty of gifts you can give, in any budget.

  1. Expensive Gifts

    • Most boys and men love ball games; if your city or town has a team, purchase tickets to a game. Get two, one for him and one for you. If you don't like sports and do not want to attend, still purchase two tickets; he can take a friend, because nobody likes to go to a ball game alone.

Get all dolled up and take him to a fancy restaurant. Order lobster, steak and champagne and a rich chocolate cake for dessert; enjoy the time together.

    Inexpensive Gifts

    • Put together a picnic lunch for your sweetie and you to enjoy. Fried chicken, strawberries and cookies for dessert are simple but yummy.

If you don't go for eating outside, invite him to your home to make dinner for him. Pull out all the stops; make something that will impress him. Try not to make anything above your skill level, however, or you may be ordering pizza if dinner doesn't work out.

Design a T-shirt for your boyfriend. There are many sites, such as Zazzle or CafePress, that allow you to upload a design or choose one of their hundreds of designs. You can make it say whatever you want; you can even have a picture of the two of you together.

    Homemade Gifts

    • Nothing says "I love you" like homemade cookies. Bring them to his office on Valentine's Day, or simply give them to him sometime during the day. He will think of you each time he takes a bite of one.

If you have a knack for writing, write a love poem for him. Include the many ways you love him, how much he means to you and how you never want to let him go. Get creative; the poem doesn't have to be sappy sweet, it just needs to be heartfelt. If you are musically inclined as well, put it to music and sing it to him.

Knit a scarf for him to wear. This is especially handy if you live where it stays cold well past Valentine's Day. He will think of you every time he wraps it around his neck.

Put together a scrapbook or collage of the time you have been dating; include pictures of the two of you doing many different things. If you have only been together a short time, a frame with two or three slots would suffice.

    Funny Gifts

    • If your guy likes funny or off-the-wall things, send him a singing telegram. Have it show up at his office and sing about your love for him. Be sure someone is handy to take a few pictures. If that is frowned upon at his office, have them arrive at his home before he leaves for work.

Boxers with hearts all over them can be embarrassing to some men, but others will wear them proudly. If your boyfriend is one of the latter, pick up a pair and wrap them up really nicely; he'll be so surprised when he opens the gift to find a pair of boxers.
