Supplies for Science Teachers
Teaching science in all levels of education includes the instruction of biology, earth science, astronomy and other many other sciences. Getting children interested in science at the early levels of teaching, such as grade school, is easier if you have the right supplies. Beakers, test tubes, microscope and other lab equipment are all basic items needed to teach science. Finding creative, hands-on supplies can be more complicated, but well worth the effort.

Biology Supplies

Science teachers can use models of the human heart, brain and torso that offer instruction to students in biology and anatomy. A human heart model can be disassembled to show the arteries and veins, giving the student a more visual perspective of how the heart works. Models of the brain come in many different types, including life-sized models that can be disassembled. Life-sized torso models are also able to be taken apart.
Chemistry
-
Materials that demonstrate the chemistry of food products and oil cleanup, for example, provide students with an understanding of chemistry in everyday use. Teachers can purchase a food chemistry supply kit, for example, which allows students to perform tests on everyday foods. This kit allows the student to test the food for glucose content, fats, proteins and other chemicals.

Earth Science
-
A globe alone cannot describe the earth and its makeup, such as the inner core and layers of the Earth. A model of the earth that can be disassembled to expose the Earth's layers is useful for a science teacher. The outside of the model shows the landmasses and oceans, including the raised features of the Earth. The inside of the model shows the inner core and its temperature ranges.
Energy Science
-
The popularity of renewable energy is apparent in the expansion of solar panels and wind farms, as well as electric and hybrid cars. Solar and wind kits allow students to create a working solar panel and wind turbine. These kits can provide students with an understanding of how these renewable energies work.
