November is a big month for art shows in Washington State. With the holidays around the corner, arts events happen all over. There are small boutiques with a handful of exhibitors, fundraisers at schools and churches, larger events in exhibit halls, and even an entire month of coordinated art activities in Tacoma.

      The Christmas Arts & Crafts Show in Pasco is held on three November days at the TRAC Center. The Spokane Christmas Arts & Crafts Show, which also runs three days, takes place at the Spokane Fair & Expo Center. Christmas Moments takes place in three buildings at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick. In addition to exhibitors, it features roving performers.

      Bellingham has two noteworthy art shows in November. The Holiday Festival of the Arts is a six-week festival featuring local artisans, live music, craftspeople at work and kids' activities. Art by the Lake, held at the Bloedel Donovan Multipurpose Center, is a two-day event featuring local artisans, with ongoing art demonstrations. Arts Alive! in La Conner is held for three days at Maple Hall & Civic Garden Club. Receptions are held at more than 30 galleries in town. The NW Holiday Arts Gift Show, a one-day event at The Redmond Athletic Club, showcases the work of Northwest artists. The Lacey Holiday Bazaar is a weekend event held at Saint Martins Pavilion that features Northwest artists, as well as music and prize drawings.

      The fall Best of the Northwest art show is put on by the Northwest Art Alliance for three days in November at the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal --- Pier 91--- in Seattle. Founded in 1989, the show has evolved to include a large network of artists, art supporters and collectors and art organizations. It is the biggest event of its kind in Seattle. In addition to presentations by artists, the event also offers wine tasting, art demonstrations and performing artists.

      The city of Tacoma actively encourages community involvement in the arts by declaring November "Arts Month." These are held at multiple locations.
