Homemade Kids Gifts for Dads

Homemade Kids Gifts for Dads thumbnail
Many Dads feel that spending time with their children is the greatest gift of all.

Show your dad how much you appreciate him by making a homemade gift that warms his heart. Buy embellishments at the store or find items around the house to use in crafting his gift. Use raw materials from outdoors like rocks or sticks to make a rustic gift for a dad who loves the outdoors. You can also focus on sports-themed gifts if you have a father who enjoys soccer, football or golf.

  1. Flower Pot

    • Decorate a flower pot for your father. Buy a large ceramic pot and paint the pot with your dad's favorite colors or paint designs that you know he will like. Paint a message on the pot that says, "To the Most Wonderful Dad," or something along those lines. Give this gift to a dad who likes to spend time outdoors working in the garden.

    Painting

    • Paint a picture of you and your dad together fishing, at the park or just outdoors. Let the painting dry and then glue on landscape accents to make the painting stand out more. Spray a thin coat of spray-on glue on the ground of the landscape and sprinkle sand or dirt on the painting. Shake it off to remove excess sand. Add stickers and other embellishments like a football sticker on the ground near you and your father.

    Dad Collage

    • Make your father a collage that represents everything you love about him. Buy thick card stock paper and glue photos of you and your dad together on the page. Find items that remind of your dad such as soccer ball stickers, feathers, seashells or anything else that he likes. Glue these items on the page around the pictures. Write a message to your dad at the bottom of the page, telling him how much you love him.

    Custom Made Dad Frame

    • Make your dad a custom frame featuring a picture of the two of you together. Buy a wooden frame or find an old frame around the house. Paint the wooden portion of the frame with your dad's favorite colors. Then find items that represent your dad's personality or the relationship with him. These items can include baseball charms, buttons or even sticks and small pebbles from outdoors. Ask your mom to help you use a hot glue gun to attach these items around the wooden border of the frame.
