Camel markets are not an uncommon spectacle in Al Ain

At the eastern end of the Abu Dhabi, next the the border with Oman, lies the town of Al Ain. Not nearly as popular as the emirate's capital, but boasting a number of sights, the town attracts visitors from Abu Dhabi and Dubai, both about 100 miles away. Not surprisingly, there is an abundance of hotels to choose from.

City Seasons, Al Ain

Located at the heart of the town, City Seasons offers 73 guest rooms and 16 suites, all equipped with satellite TV and wireless Internet connection. The hotel's amenities include an outdoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi services, as well as conference facilities, available upon request. The property operates a full-service restaurant, New Seasons, as well as the Seasons Cafe and Cafe Lounge for drinks and quick snacks. Within a five-minute walk of the hotel is the Al Basra Park, one of the town's small oases.

Hilton Al Ain

Its location, right next to the massive Al Ain Oasis, is one of Hilton's strong points. Standard, deluxe and executive rooms, as well as suites, are available, all with high-speed Internet as a standard feature. The list of amenities includes a pool, fitness center, squash and tennis court, as well as a business center for working travelers. There's no shortage of dining options within the property's premises, with no less than six restaurants and cafes to choose from, including Makani, Casa Romana, Flavours, Paco's, Hiltonia and Palm Court. Apart from Al Ain Oasis, other attractions nearby include the Al Ain Museum and the Murabba Heritage Fort, both within a mile radius.

Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet Al Ain

At the southern tip of town, close to the border with Oman, is the Mercure Grand hotel. There are 115 guest rooms and nine suites on offer, featuring high-speed wireless Internet. The property also provides guests with a fitness center, three swimming pools with water slides and a mini-golf course. Three full-service restaurants are located within the hotel's premises: Eden Rock, Le Belvedere and the Orient Cafe, as well as a bar, Lawrence's, offering live dance shows. Since the property is far away from the town center, the closest attraction is Shimbouah Garden, approximately four miles northwest.

Asfar Resorts Al Ain

Situated in the north part of the town, but not too far from Al Ain's attractions, Asfar offers one and two-bedroom suites, featuring high-speed Internet, at a minimal cost. Hotel amenities include an outdoor pool, children's playground and a fitness center. Nearby attractions include the Al Qattara and Marizhab Hadikath parks, both a five-minute walk away, while the Hili Archaeological Park is located four miles to the east, next to the border with Oman.
