Beach Wedding Photo Ideas
Beach wedding photographs can showcase the couple in an open-air atmosphere for a casual look. Natural elements such as the sand and sea can lead to quiet, ethereal images of the bride and groom facing the horizon, or spontaneous shots of the flower girl running along the water's edge. Props for the beach wedding can include sunglasses, drinks, parasols and beach blankets.

Children
-
If children are part of the wedding party, photographing them early can reduce the risk of impatient displays or tantrums during shoots later in the day. Handy props such as shovels and pails can make the scene playful.
Natural Elements
-
On a beach with logs or large rocks, the couple can sit on blankets coordinated to match the wedding colors. On a sandy beach, the bride and groom can write messages with sand or pebbles. For example, the couple can write their names, initials or wedding date. A few petals from the wedding bouquet can decorate the message. If one photograph will be part of thank-you cards, the couple can write "Thank You" in the sand.

Close-Up Shots
-
As well as the more traditional shots of the couple together, other photos can include beach props, such as shells, driftwood or other gifts of nature. The bride and groom can sport matching sunglasses and hold tall glasses of lemonade with straws under a beach umbrella. Close-up shots of mementos should include the bouquet and reception food. Even an image of the sand can become a background for text in a digital wedding album.
Wide-Angle Shots
-
A beach wedding can feature the couple amid natural vegetation. A wide-angle shot to emphasize expansiveness can show the couple walking together on a long stretch of beach. A sunset photo can capture the two holding hands as they face the water. Photos can also highlight natural vegetation such as palm trees or native flowers specific to the wedding location.
After the Wedding
-
As well as the more formal shots, a mix of relaxed images or photo-documentary shots can add variety to the wedding album. For example, snap photos of the bridal party walking in the sand or running along the water's edge, and of a conga line as guests snake around the reception area. A photo of the couple waving can be used for the final page of the album.
