Kindergarten Day Activities
Kindergarten day activities encourage learning and imagination. Take your kids out for an all-day field trip or enjoy an activity at the school that lasts until the bell rings. Choose events and outings that appeal to children ages five and six and ask a few parents to attend and help supervise.

Planting Small Trees and Flowers on Earth Day
-
Celebrate Earth Day with your kindergarten students by taking them outdoors to plant flowers and trees. This activity generally takes all day or the majority of the day. Get permission to plant trees or flower borders directly at the school or find a location that allows anyone to plant and contribute on Earth Day. Celebrating Earth Day can help your students appreciate the bounty that the planet provides.
Visit a Local Petting Zoo or Dairy Farm
-
The kids are sure to enjoy watching cows graze. Kindergarten children love to see animals up close and in person. Take them to a day activity at one of your local petting zoos so they can touch the lambs, goats and other small animals. If there is no petting zoo in your area, take the kids on a tour of a dairy farm instead. Children enjoy seeing animals, but remember to ask if the kids are allowed to pet the cows through the fence.

Rock Collecting and Painting
-
Gather rocks on the beach if you have one close by. Take your kindergarten kids to the beach or out in nature to collect rocks, depending on where you live. Give each child a bucket and help them collect different sized rocks. Give the children a few hours to collect rocks. Then spend the rest of the day back at the classroom helping the kids paint their rock collection. Show them how to paint faces and other designs on their rocks or just help the kids paint them in solid colors. The children can take the rocks home and give them to their parents to use as decoration in a rock or flower garden.
Health Fair
-
Health fairs encourage small children to make healthy choices early on. Host an all-day health fair for your kindergarten students. Set up different books and activities to teach the kids about health and nutrition. Allow them to sample healthy foods and raw food creations like cucumber and carrot dip or freshly-made almond milk. Make a booth about the importance of washing hands and give the kids coloring books or other toys that send the message. A dental health booth can include free toothbrushes and dental floss.
