A covered wagon may be used as a centerpiece for a wedding.

Exotic or out-of-season flowers can throw a wedding budget out of kilter. The remedy to this is to create inexpensive wedding centerpieces. Centerpieces can be lovely as you reduce the number of flowers from dozens to one single elegant flower or use different types of items as your centerpiece. Let your imagination flow as you plan inexpensive table decorations for your wedding.

  1. Elegant

    • If you have always wanted a blue rose or calla lily for your wedding, then pick one for each table. Drape the single flower across an elevated piece of black velvet to give it height and importance. Lay a strand of faux pearls next to it with a set of gold rings, one overlapping the other. Place wedding bells under the display with a plaque engraved with the couples' wedded name and the date of the wedding.

    Country Chic

    • For a winter wedding, spray paint a tree branch white and a footed metal container cherry red. Stick Styrofoam into the container and add the branch. Fill the container with holly leaves and moss. Hang red Christmas balls and swag strands of red Mardi Gras beads on the branches. Add a photograph of the couple in a red metal or white wood frame as you surround the display with votive candles in a red holder.

    Western

    • Use your imagination as you decorate your table for a western wedding. Use Grandma's old ceramic pitcher as a container for a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers from the garden, while Mason jars hold brightly colored candles. Tie raffia around the neck of the Mason jars. Sprinkle charms of belt buckles, western- style boots, and cowboy hats around the centerpiece and add a couple of pictures of the couple to finish the display.

    Fresh

    • Bring a sunshine smile to your wedding table. Group three vases of different heights in the center of the table and run a 2-inch-wide red ribbon just underneath the edge of the vase. Use a stencil to paint a yellow monogram of the couple on one side of the yellow ribbon. Place one dozen homemade yellow paper dahlia flowers into each vase. Lay lemons around the vases with bright red square candles.
