The Best Romantic Gifts for Your Wife
Ah, romance! Too many people think of romance as part of courting alone and something that dies during the honeymoon. However, as any happily married couple knows, romance can grow through a lifetime. Keep the romance alive with thoughtful gifts that tell your wife she still holds a special place in your heart. Romantic gifts are those that show how much you value her and your life together. They don't even have to be expensive; they just have to be sincere expressions of your passion and affection.

Spa Day: Away or at Home
-
Give your wife a stress-free day of rejuvenation. A full day at the spa can be the ultimate indulgence, especially if your wife spends most her time taking care of others. More than just a single service, a day at the spa gives your wife time to fully relax and fully indulge. It's a time for all the stress to melt away and for her to reconnect with her body and her spirit. If she would be uncomfortable with a spa, consider making a day of spa services at home with you as her attendant. Set the environment by sending the kids away and putting out flowers and lighting scented candles. Serve her breakfast in bed. Give her a nice plush robe to wear and set out a foot bath with rose petals for her. Provide such services as massage, pedicure and a facial. Draw up several warm baths and let her bathe by candlelight. Prepare a light lunch of healthy food that includes fruit and cucumber water. Make tea for her in the afternoon.
Clean the House
-
Cleaning the house is a form of foreplay. This may not sound romantic, but it is a way of telling your wife that you care about her and the environment she lives in. Clean the house from top to bottom, including tasks that she usually performs. Then give her a card that expresses your appreciation for all that she does and tell her how much she makes your home and heart shine.

Serenade Her
-
Sing your love to your wife. Serenade her with a poem or a song. This is especially romantic if you can write your own poem or song. If you don't feel comfortable with your musical or spoken abilities, look up a Sweet Adelines chorus in your area. They typically offer singing Valentines and may be willing to do them at other times of year as well. They'll send a barbershop quartet to sing a love song to your wife.
Rose Petal Memories
-
Speak your love with roses. Buy a pack of freeze-dried rose petals. Fresh ones often have herbicides or pesticides sprayed on them. On a pack of sticky notes, write a short memory that you share or write a short love note to her. Attach one note to each rose petal. Spread them on her pillow or over your bed. Light candles and join her as she reads them.
Mix CD
-
A custom CD makes the gift of music personal. Make a mix CD that is filled with songs that are especially meaningful to the two of you. Start with your wedding song and then fill it up with other love songs. These might be favorite artists that you like, a song you heard on your first date or a song that expresses how you feel about her. Design a cover for the CD case using a portrait of the two of you together. Come up with a name for the CD that might include her name or some other tribute to her.
Top 10 List
-
Make a David Letterman-style Top 10 List. The list can be something like, "The Top 10 Things I Love About You" or "The Top 10 Things That Make My Wife Beautiful" or "The Top 10 Reasons I Want To Spend the Rest of My Life With You." While it is silly and fun, it is also something that can make her feel good--especially coming from a loving husband.
