The father and son bond is a special one.

Finding gifts for a father and son may seem like a difficult challenge at first, and it can be if you feel like any gift will make them happy. However, to find a truly meaningful gift, pay attention to what hobbies they do together, places they frequent and events they attend. Once you have that information, finding a gift should be easier.

Board/Card Games

Board games such as Chess, Battleship, Scrabble, Monopoly and Yahtzee make great father/son gifts. These games offer hours of free entertainment for the father and son duo. The games are affordable and can easily be found at any toy store. Card games and poker sets may be of interest to them as well. This is an especially handy gift for poker night enthusiasts.

Gift Baskets

It's easy for any father and son to enjoy treats from a gift basket. Most gift baskets have a theme, like coffee or fruit. You can use the standard gift baskets, or create your own. Put together ingredients for a yummy home cooked meal, car washing equipment, a collection of magazines, electronic gadgets or a nice set of tools. A gift basket will be accepted with much appreciation.

Event Tickets

If your father/son duo enjoy attending events together, consider giving them a couple of tickets to a show. Purchase tickets for sporting events, concerts, comedy clubs or movie theaters. If you want to go all out, consider purchasing airline tickets. Maybe they would like to see some relatives, or just enjoy a nice vacation together.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates can be bought almost anywhere. If you know of a favorite restaurant the two of them frequent, a golf course they prefer or even a bowling alley they visit often, consider purchasing a gift certificate from the location. Most gift certificates are good for up to one year after purchase date. Be sure to include the activation receipt if required, otherwise the certificate won't work.
