The show "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" has gained something of a cult following since it first premiered on FX in August 2005. It has spawned many popular running jokes of its own including the now infamous "green man" and "flip-a-delphia." More recently however, the "birds of war" episode has become a favorite amongst fans, an episode which sees the characters dress up and fight as a gang of birds in order to raise money for wounded soldiers. With just a few easily obtainable objects, making your own birds of war costume is simple.

Things You'll Need:

  • Blank Baseball Cap
  • Scissors
  • White Paint
  • Black Paint
  • Yellow Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • 2 White Feather Boas
  • Adhesive Tape

Cut the the sides off of your baseball cap's front flap, forming a front-facing triangle. This will form the beak of your costume.

Paint the the triangle yellow with a black line running down the middle of it. Paint the main bulk of your hat white with two black dots either side of it, signifying the bird's eyes. If possible, try bending the cap's front flap down the middle of the black line to give it the shape of a standard beak.

Stick your white feather boas to each arm using tape. Make sure they are long enough to freely stretch from your hand to the top of your shoulder. Tape the boas around your wrists and around the top of your arms to ensure they do not come loose.

Tip

If you wish to emulate the costume as seen in the show further, be sure to don the costume shirtless, using a marker pen to draw false muscles onto your torso.
