Wedding Money Tree Ideas
Money trees are small trees or branches that sit on the gift table at a wedding reception. Guests can tie or stick dollar bills to the tree. It is another way to give a gift to the newly married couple. Decorate the money tree so that it looks like part of the decor; you don't want to seem too greedy by making it flashy and ostentatious.

Real-Looking Tree
-
Purchase a small potted tree; it can be real or artificial. Wrap the pot in white fabric or tulle and add a ribbon or pearl strands. Set the tree on the gift table and attach a few bills to it so that guests know what it is. Paper clips work well for attaching the bills. Leave a small basket or box of paper clips near the tree for guests to add more bills as the reception goes on.
Butterfly Tree
-
Use a real or artificial tree as in the above section. Fold a few dollars back and forth accordion-style. They should now be very long and skinny. Wrap a piece of pipe cleaner around the middle of the bill; leave the two ends of the pipe cleaner sticking up. Unfold the sides of the bills so they look like wings. Curl the ends of the pipe cleaners to look like antennae and hook them to a branch on the tree. Leave a pile of pipe cleaners near the tree for guests to make their own butterflies.

Clip Tree
-
Purchase several photo clips. These usually have a sturdy base with long wires sticking up. On the sides and top of the wires are clips for holding pictures. Instead, clip a few bills to them. This is a very discreet money tree, as there is no actual tree. Don't worry about having a clip for every bill. The clips can hold many bills at a time.
Wishing Well
-
If you don't like the money tree idea, or showing off the money for all to see, consider a wishing well. This is a small well that can be decorated with tulle, flowers and other items to fit the wedding decor. The middle of the well is hollow, with a large hole in it for holding cards, money or small gifts. This should be placed on or near the gift table, the same as the money trees.
