Measurement Sites for Kids

There are many kid-friendly measurement websites.

Students can further their understanding of math concepts and practice measurement and estimating skills by taking advantage of math websites. Colorful, kid-friendly websites allow students to exercise their mathematical skills to measure angles; tell time; estimate length, mass and volume; count money; and measure objects with a virtual ruler. Children will also have fun playing educational math games online.

AAA Math

AAA Math features a comprehensive set of interactive measurement lessons for elementary and middle school children. The website provides immediate feedback to correct errors in a non-stressful environment. This practice helps build a child's confidence and raise self-esteem. Students can review measurement curriculum such as time, the metric system, mass, length, volume and temperature conversions. Students will enjoy playing with the virtual ruler as they slide it back and forth on the screen to measure objects. Ambleside Primary Angle Measuring

The Ambleside Primary website features an interactive, virtual protractor for students to practice measuring angles. An adult can help younger children read the directions as they measure the angles. This virtual protractor flash program not only allows you to interact with the protractor, but it also teaches you "how" to properly use the math tool and it reviews the different types of angles.
