Thus, reading one or two and working through the problems offers excellent exam preparation because both content and tests are tailored to the exact test you will face.
Practice Tests

In addition to the tests contained in study books, the educational institution where you will take the GED will often make practice tests available. You should take as many of these as possible, and also try to simulate actual GED conditions, with time limits and with the test divided into the same subject sections as the GED.

Flash cards are excellent for memorizing the actual, raw content of the exam. Write a question or topic on one side, then the answer on the other side, and constantly quiz yourself. Take some flash cards with you everywhere you go, and use them to drill whenever you have a few spare moments. While test taking strategies and an understanding of how the questions are worded is important, it is equally important to actually know the information. Flash cards are a good way to make this happen.

Be methodical during the test, but keep an eye on the clock. It is better to skip questions at the end than to rush through all the questions trying to get to the end. Thus, no matter what the clock says, you should make sure you read through every question and comprehend its meaning before answering. One missed word in a question can completely change your its point, so make sure this does not happen and digest every word.
