GED Night Schools in the Exeter, New Hampshire, Area
GED schools in the Exeter, New Hampshire, area offer adult residents and non-residents 18 or older the opportunity to take day or evening program classes in English, reading, writing and math in preparation for taking the five-part GED test, which includes language arts, reading, math, science and social studies. Students younger than 18 must obtain permission from their school district to enroll in the GED program. A GED is equivalent to a high school diploma. New Hampshire education laws do not recognize or allow GED classes to be taken online or through correspondence classes. GED tests are administered by the New Hampshire Department of Education at authorized test locations. Students must attend two test dates to complete the test.

Tuck Learning Campus

Exeter GED night classes are offered to residents and non-residents who are 18 years or older at the Tuck Learning Campus. Students take classes in English, reading and math to prepare for the GED test. Accommodations are available for special needs students by making advance arrangements. Regular fees are $80, which includes books. The GED test fee is $65, and there is a $15 mandatory practice test fee. A 25 percent discount is available for senior citizens 65 or older at the time of registration. There is no discount for computer classes. Class hours are from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Beginner-level classes meet on Monday and Thursday, intermediate-level classes meet on Monday and Wednesday and advance-level classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday. GED tests are offered at the school on certain dates. Students may also enroll in classes to complete their high school diploma instead of GED.
Winnacunnet High School

Winnacunnet High School offers a GED option only for current students who have completed the 8th grade reading level, passed a test and who are one grade level behind in accumulated credits of their high school class. Students need a guardian's or parent's permission to enroll in the GED program. Students must receive 15 hours of class instruction and an additional approved study such as a work class or activity. GED classes are held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Monday through Thursday and required lab time is available during day school hours. Once students are ready to take the GED test, they can register at the Exeter or Dover Adult Learning Centers.

The Dover Adult Learning Center of Strafford County offers GED classes between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Free tutoring classes are offered to adults 18 or over to improve skills in reading, math and writing to prepare for the GED. Exercises, practice tests and classes in reading, math and writing are available for GED preparation.
Home-Schooled

Home-schooled applicants who are 18 years or older may register to take the GED test at the Exeter testing center by contacting the GED administrator. Applicants who are home-schooled and are between 16 and 17 years of age need to obtain permission to register for the GED from either the administrator of the home school, the school district, the Department of Education or a private school in the Exeter area.
