Toddler Easter Games

Create exciting Easter games for your toddlers.

Get toddlers excited about the Easter holiday with other games besides the typical egg hunt. From an egg-bowling contest to an Easter egg blow race, use your imagination to create games the toddlers will love and want to play every year. Awarding small Easter-themed prizes, such as candy eggs and toys, to game winners will have them lined up and ready for the next game.

  1. Egg Bowling

    • Make several hard-boiled eggs and give each toddler an egg to decorate. Tell him to make sure to write his name on the egg. Leave one egg undecorated and place it in the middle of the play area. Mark a standing line about 10 feet from the white egg. One at a time, the toddlers try to roll their eggs as close as they can to the white egg. The toddler who rolls his egg closest to the white egg wins the game.

    Animal Eggs

    • Put a small toy animal in a plastic Easter egg and close it shut. Use animals, such as a cow, pig, chicken, snake or any small plastic toy animals that fit in the eggs. Give each toddler an egg and tell her to take it somewhere to open so that only she can see the animal. Have the toddlers sit in a circle with their eggs. Select a toddler to go first and she must make the sound of the animal in her egg. The first toddler to guess the animal in her egg wins the game.

Pin the Tail on the Easter Bunny

    • Print or draw a picture of a bunny on a large poster board. Draw a dotted line where the bunny tail should go and show the toddlers. Give each toddler a cotton ball with double-sided tape on it. Blindfold each toddler and spin him three times. Tell him to try to pin the cotton ball on the Easter bunny. The toddler who pins the tail closest to the correct spot on the bunny wins the game.

    Easter Egg Blow Race

    • Poke a hole in the top and bottom of real eggs (being careful not to crack the eggs open). Use your mouth to blow the inside of the eggs out, leaving hollow eggs. Give each toddler an egg and tell him not to squeeze the egg or it will break. Mark a starting line and a finish line about 15 feet apart. Have the toddlers line up at the starting line and tell them to put their eggs in front of them on the ground. Give the toddlers a straw and when you say "Go," tell them to use the straws to blow the eggs to the finish line. Tell them they cannot use their hands. The first player to blow his egg over the finish line wins the game.
