Purple Wedding Bouquet Ideas
Brides who love purple have a range of natural hued and synthetically dyed flowers to choose from for their perfect bouquet. Calla lilies and tulips present a fresh appearance, roses have a classic feel, and sweet peas, hydrangeas and irises present a sweet, clean and sophisticated look. Lavender and lilac accents also add a splash of purple to any bouquet.

Deep Purple Calla Lilies
-
Add white calla lilies to purple hues for a variation of color. Mini calla lilies come in a variety of colors, including dark purple. Accent dark purple calla lilies with white calla lilies and lighter lavender calla lilies for a single-flower bouquet, or accent dark purple calla lilies with dark green leaves and small amounts of baby's breath for more variety.
Lavender Sweet Peas
-
Sweet peas come in deep purple as well as lavender purple. Sweet peas come in various shades of purple, as well as other colors that match nicely with purple, making these flowers an excellent focal point for a purple bouquet. The sweet pea's soft, feathery appearance makes the pastel purple or lavender variations most popular for wedding bouquets, especially when paired with white sweet peas or white lisianthus flowers.

Hydrangeas
-
Hydrangea clusters have a natural bouquet silhouette. Hydrangeas have small blossoms clustered together in a ball shape and typically come in blue, red, pink, light purple or dark purple. A single bunching of purple hydrangea flowers works nicely for a small bouquet, but a bigger bouquet can alternate several bunches of light and dark purple hydrangea flowers with small scatterings of white or purple lisianthus flowers.
Purple Irises
-
Purple irises work well when paired with lavender hue flowers as well as with deep blue hue flowers. While blue irises appear most frequently in bouquets and wedding arrangements, irises come in purple hues as well. Surround lavender irises with each daisies and light pink rosebuds for a soft appearance. Alternatively, use blue irises bordering on blue-violet and surround these flowers with lavender irises or lavender roses.
Deep Purple Tulips
-
Deep purple tulips add a touch of spring to any bouquet. Tulip bouquets add a fresh, bright appearance to springtime weddings. Bundle a small number of deep purple tulips together for a slender, simple bouquet. For a larger bouquet, intersperse deep purple tulips with white tulips, sweet peas and lily of the valley flowers for a soft, sweet look.
Roses
-
Purple roses have a soft appearance when matched with white roses. Roses create a classically romantic bouquet. For a single-flower bouquet, alternate lilac or lavender roses with pink roses, creating a soft blend of sweet pastels. For more variety, match deep lavender roses with lavender sweet peas, blue forget-me-not flowers or lavender astilbe and blue agapanthus flowers.
Lavender and Lilac
-
Stems of lilac flowers work well in slender bouquets. Lavender and lilacs both have small blossoms and typically work best as accent flowers for bouquets rather than focal points. Match stems of these flowers with deep purple tulips, white lilies or peach roses. Small bundles of lavender or small bundles of lilac also create simple, fragrant bouquets when used on their own.
