Aircraft Interior Schools
Airplane interior designers are responsible for the aircraft seating and interior spaces, including the cabin and bathrooms. Schools that specialize in this degree focus on both the engineering and interior design aspects, but individual coursework varies by school. You usually have to specialize in aircraft design.

Missouri State

The Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo., offers an interior design course, and you receive a bachelor's degree upon completion of 125 credit hours, which includes 70 hours of core courses. You can specialize in different areas, including technical fields such as aerospace engineering. You must also complete an interior design internship and a service project, and you must also show your portfolio at a public venue. The school offers financial aid to qualified students.
Virginia Tech

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va., opened in 1872. It attracts nearly 30,000 students per year and offers 65 bachelor's degree programs. It also has a graduate school. It offers an aircraft design program, which includes both in-class and laboratory work. The traditional senior capstone design program is a year-long, three credit per semester program. This class focuses on engineering design, and you must work with a team on problems. You can also pursue a master's degree in the graduate design program.

The Art Institutes is a group of 45 schools located throughout the country, including in Georgia, Colorado, Florida and California. The school offers bachelor, master, associate, certificate and diploma programs, and it also has a job placement service to help you find a job after you graduate. The school offers industrial and interior design degree programs. You learn different programs, including Adobe Lightroom, Apple Aperture and Illustrator. Not all programs are offered at every campus.
Westwood College

Westwood College is a national group of schools that offers a bachelor's degree in interior design at the following campuses: Colorado, Illinois, California and Virginia. This program is for people who want to pursue a degree as a drafter, interior designer or designer. The school offers both on-campus and online programs, and it offers financial aid. Generally, you can complete the degree in three years, and the school offers both day and night classes.
