Near the Saskatchewan / Alberta boarder, Macklin was first recognized as a town in 1912. Named for Henry Macklin, an executive for The Winnipeg Free Press, the town serves as a base for the large oil fields located nearby. One of Saskatchewan's fastest growing provinces, 73 percent of Macklin's population is under the age of 45. Macklin offers three hotel options for visitors, and several attractions.

    Travel Tips

Average temperatures range from 17 degrees to -2 degrees Fahrenheit, with extreme lows of -40 degrees. Snowfall can begin in late summer and last until late spring, with an average 46 inches of accumulation each year.
