Floral Supplies & Crafts
The floral craft hobby encompasses a wide array of materials and craft types. From bouquet and corsage-making to painting and culinary crafts, the materials needed for floral crafts vary depending on the use and end result desired. Knowing about some different floral tools and crafts gives you the ability to venture into a floral hobby.

Garden Clippers
-
Garden clippers are necessary for floral crafts. Handheld garden clippers are ideal when working with fresh and artificial flowers in your crafts; these handheld clippers can snip through even woody grapevines and lilac sprigs. They are necessary tools when working with floral pieces in all aspects of floral crafting; however, sharp scissors can be used if you are working with thinner stems while making corsages, bouquets, arrangements, centerpieces and a multitude of other floral items.
Florist's Tape
-
Green tape of any variety can substitute for florist's tape. Florist's tape wraps around stems of flowers, binds flowers together, and attaches embellishing pieces to your creations. It is necessary for covering spiny stems of roses and related plants and it allows you to bundle shortened stems together when making corsages. If you don't have florist's tape on hand, you can use any green tape that is adhesive enough to withstand your craft.

Craft Foam
-
Craft foam bases are used to anchor silk flowers, fresh flowers, and other embellishments for floral arranging crafts. These supplies are useful for when you are making a large arrangement that sits atop a casket, podium or other upright structure. Craft foam bases are lightweight, meaning they can also float. This lends to their use in creating floating floral crafts for garden pond environments. Craft foam bases are easy to use and come in a wide range of sizes and shapes.
Hairspray
-
Hairspray is a useful material for floral crafts that involve preserving and displaying fresh-cut flowers. For example, arranging fresh flowers in a vase and misting the surface of the arrangement with hairspray allows the petals of the flowers to retain their colors. This lends to keeping the flowers together since petals ordinarily fall when flowers dry. Hairspray also serves as an adhesive when you are embellishing your floral crafts with loose glitter or confetti pieces. Use hairspray to embellish corsages, bouquets and scrapbook entries.
