Traditional Wedding Colors
The modern bride has nearly unlimited choices when it comes to color and style for her wedding. She is able to choose any color at any time of year. This amount of customization can sometimes be overwhelming. It can be helpful to look at the colors used for weddings traditionally when deciding on a color scheme for the wedding. You no longer have to use traditional colors, but they may inspire you for your own wedding.

Spring
-
In the spring, the traditional wedding colors are light and airy, just like the colors that you typically see in the early springtime. Soft, pastel colors, such as pale yellow, light pink, soft blues and light greens are traditional choices. Mint and lilac are also traditional spring colors. Traditionally, the bride should choose one or two colors as the main wedding colors, and blend most of the decorations and clothing choices based off of those two spring colors.
Summer
-
Traditionally, summer has a brighter color palette for weddings than any other season. Brighter shades of color, such as lime green, hot pink, orange, purple, sky blues and bright white are traditional choices for summer. Rich silver shades also combine well with traditional summer wedding colors. Think of the colors used in a child's bedroom, and you will have the traditional wedding colors for summer. Traditionally, most weddings occurred in the summer.

Winter weddings with traditional colors contain pale and muted colors, just like winter itself. Shades of white, such as bright white or cream are traditional choices for a wedding. Icy blues and grey are also traditional colors for winter. A traditional neutral color for winter is beige or light coffee. Silver and gold are also traditional companion colors for the winter wedding. Traditional weddings also used clear and sparkling colors for winter weddings.
Autumn
-
Autumn weddings were rarer in the traditional choice for weddings, but were still some people who chose to marry in the autumn due to choice or necessity. Think of colors naturally found in autumn for the traditional wedding colors. Browns, burgundy, deep reds, dusky pink and olive greens were traditional choices. The chosen metal of the traditional autumn style wedding was copper. The brighter colors of autumn, such as yellow and orange, were not used in traditional weddings.
