Ideas for Packaging Cookies as Wedding Favors

When treating wedding guests to edible favors, presentation is key. Encase decadent handmade or store-bought cookie favors in eye-catching wrapping. Decorative packaging can be inexpensive, but will go a long way in jazzing up gifts, and can be customized to reflect the wedding theme or colors.

Cellophane Bags

Stacking cookies in cellophane bags is an easy and appealing way to present the edible favors. If the treats themselves are eye-catching, pack them into clear bags. You can also place the baked goods into bags featuring a color that matches the reception decor. Make sure to use sturdy cardboard bases in each bag to protect delicate cookies. Fold and seal the tops of the bags, or tie them closed with satin ribbons. Enhance the look with stickers featuring wedding details, such as the bride and groom's names and wedding date.

Plastic Favor Boxes

Package intricate powdered sugar, chocolate or candy sprinkle-covered cookies in sturdy plastic favor boxes. Choose clear boxes large enough to hold two or three cookie favors. Make labels featuring the wedding details, quote or poem and place them on the sides of the boxes. Wrap the boxes with velvet, satin or silk ribbons and tie them into bows on top.

Mini Cookie Jars

Present cookie favors in miniature cookie jars, which guests can use after the treats are gone. The jars will also look charming when arranged at guests' place settings. Fold each corner toward the middle and seal the envelope with an elegant gold label. You can also choose paper featuring designs, such as seashells, to match the reception theme. Have the gold label embossed with the bride and groom's last name initial.
