Solar Fishing Products

Solar Tackle is a U.K.-based fishing tackle and fishing supply company headquartered in Orpington, Kent. The company specializes in selling fishing products for catching carp, which are large, freshwater fish of the minnow family that can attain weights of over 40 lbs. Solar Tackle's company slogan is "Designed for the sharper carper!"

  1. Rod Pods

    • As of 2011, Solar Tackle produces two types of rod pods, Supreme Stainless and Advanced Carbon, both of which the company sells under its WorldWide brand name. A rod pod is an adjustable fishing rod holder, which you can set to hold multiple fishing rods. Both the Supreme Stainless and the Advanced Carbon rod pods offer adjustable rod heights and angles and come with padded transportation bags. The main different between the two is weight. While the supreme stainless pod, with its 100-percent stainless-steel construction, weighs 2.3 kg or about 5 lbs., the Advanced Carbon pod, with its stainless-steel and carbon composite construction, weighs 1.85 kg or about 4 lbs.

    Indicators

    • An indicator is an electronic device you attach to your fishing line to monitor activity. When a fish bites and your line is pulled through the indicator, the movement causes a light to go off, alerting you to the fish. Solar Fishing produces indicators under its Power Glow brand name. The Power Glower Indicators utilize green, red, amber, white or blue LED lights and run on LR44-type batteries, which are common for use in watches.

    Baiting Needles

    • A baiting needle is a tool carpers use to loop baits securely on to hooks and rigs. One of Solar Tackle's most popular baiting needle tools is its Boilie Needle Plus, which consists of a plastic handle--available in green, red, amber, white and blue--that you can outfit with interchangeable baiting needles of a variety of sizes. These include separate needles for baiting PVA stick baits, maggot baits and boilie baits.

    Baits

    • Solar Tackle produces six different carp bait varieties. These include fruit-flavored baits like Quench and The Secret, bird food-based baits like Top Banana and Dairy Cream and baits that use seafood items mixed with other organic ingredients, like BYT, which features fermented shrimp and Club Mix, which features crustacean meals and pre-digested fish.

    Hats

    • In addition to selling specifically carp-related fishing supplies, Solar Tackle also sells hats that display the company's logo. The logo features an image of a person holding a carp within the "o" of the word Solar in Solar Tackle. The company produces three types of Solar Tackle hats: baseball caps, which have adjustable headbands, fleece caps, which can provide warmth on cold fishing days and bush hats, which have broad, circular rims.
