For little girls that prefer traditional girl toys, give her a doll --- Barbie, a Walk and Giggle Doll, an American Girl doll or a Dora the Explorer doll. Little girls generally have great imaginations and like to play make-believe. Dress up clothes and costumes work perfectly for this type of play. Give the little girl in your life Disney Princess dress up gowns, shoes, tiaras and jewelry so she can transform into her favorite movie character. Little girls also love wands, purses, hats and fairy wings. Girls like to pretend to be grown-ups too, so get her a cowgirl, pirate, doctor or firefighter costume. Toy props are often essential to play make-believe, so give her a plastic tea set, a play kitchen set equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave and plastic food, or a play grocery checkout lane with cash register, scanner and plastic food to ring up.

If your little girl likes to color, paint, draw or make crafts, give her a craft set. Buy a set of paints, colored pencils, crayons or markers, and drawing paper. If she likes making jewelry, give her a jewelry-making kit complete with beads, string, clasps and ideas. Or if she prefers working with her hands, give her a clay set or a make-your-own-garden kit. For the scientifically minded little girl, give her a chemistry set or a make-your-own-lip-balm kit.
