Global Express Aircraft Specs
The Global Express turbofan-powered aircraft is Bombardier Aerospace's premier long-range corporate and executive jet. The airframe entered service with its first flight in 1996 and is still in production as of January 2011. Some airframes have been modified for military purposes, including the incorporation of the Raytheon Co.'s Airborne Standoff Reconnaissance radar for use by the United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence. The Global Express is a member of Bombardier's Global family of corporate jet aircraft.

The Global Express is capable of flying up to 590 mph with a normal cruise speed of 564 mph. Its service ceiling is 51,000 feet. Designed for long-range flight, the aircraft can fly over 5,000 nautical miles depending on weather, speed and weight. The aircraft's negative load limit factor with flaps and slats retracted is -1.0 G, its positive load limit factor is 2.5 G's.

Global Express aircraft are engineered with a supercritical wing design swept 35-degrees aft. The 94-foot wingspan is complemented with a winglet at the tip of each wing. The aircraft horizontal stabilizers and elevators are mounted near the top of the vertical stabilizer, known as a T-tail. Overall aircraft length is slightly more than 99 feet long and it is 25.5 feet tall. The two Rolls-Royce BR710A-20 turbofan engines are mounted at the aft of the fuselage. They are electronically controlled by signals sent from the throttle quadrant to the full authority digital electronic controllers.

The cabin space in the Global Express has a 2,140 cubic-foot volume, is 48.35 feet long, 8.17 feet wide at the centerline and is 6.25 feet at the butt line. It has seating for two crew and eight passengers in the business configuration, four crew and 19 passengers in the high-density seating configuration. The forward fuselage offers a galley just aft of the crew quarters and full lavatory while the aft fuselage holds a sleep-in stateroom forward of the baggage compartment. The baggage compartment itself is located within the aircraft pressurized cabin.
Avionics

The base avionics package includes the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite. This suite includes four 15-inch multipurpose liquid-crystal displays, a weather detection system, heads-up display and redundant heads-up and heads-down flight instrumentation. The Onboard Maintenance System performs built-in testing throughout flight for ease of maintenance troubleshooting and to alert the crew of potential problems. Communication features include satellite communication with three Inmarsat communication channels. The aircraft's corporate role is strengthened with its integrated wired and wireless local area networks and high-speed printer and facsimile devices.
