Extracurricular Activities for Teens

After-school activities allow students to pursue their hobbies and interests, while also enabling them to make friends with other students whom they share something in common with. Teenagers may consider community service opportunities, such as volunteering at a local pet shelter or soup kitchen. Local fitness centers, such as the Y, offer courses that students may be interested in. Teens may also think about volunteering for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, which will allow them to be a role-model figure for a younger child. Youth group can be an ideal option for religious students. Teenagers who are planning to attend college may even consider taking courses after school at a local community college.
