Hiking

Introductory hiking trails can be enjoyable for the whole family. You can even bring infants on a hike, as long as safety rules are followed. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy offers pointers for bringing the family along on an exploration of a trail. First, make sure to dress in layers and bright colors, for the sake of changing weather conditions and spotting kids from afar. Pack lightly, but carry lots of water and snacks for children. Never forget the first aid kit.
