The Spring Creek Lodge Academy facility operates yearlong to serve adolescents across the country. Located in Montana, the academy integrates individual, peer and parent programs into the curriculum. The main goal of the facility is to better prepare and develop each student for adulthood. The majority of students suffer from low self-esteem, drug addiction or alcohol addiction. The highly structured environment includes regularly scheduled character-building seminars as well as family support, such as weekly calls home, support groups and parent seminars. Students also may receive psychological care from the resident, licensed psychologist. Anger management, sexual abuse survival and chemical dependency counseling also is available.
Horizon Academy

The massive Horizon Academy is located on the border of the states of Nevada and California. Horizon Academy accepts teens between the ages of 13 to18 only. The facility operates year-round under control of staff trained in suicide prevention, child abuse awareness, violence reduction through positive support, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR. Upon admission, each student undergoes rigorous testing, including a reading comprehension assessment and psychological evaluation by a licensed medical professional. All teens adhere to a strict daily schedule, consisting of a 7 a.m. wake-up call, physical education, academics and reflection time. The main goal of the academy is to develop self-awareness, a positive attitude and recognition of the consequences of decisions.

Ironwood

Ironwood is located in the state of Maine. The facility accepts students for a six- to nine-month period of intense treatment. Treatments include customized therapy in an individual and family setting as well as a student mentor program. The facility is nestled on acres of wilderness that the staff incorporates into the program. Equine-assisted therapy, for instance, uses the power and influence of horses to ignite responsibility and confidence in students. Each student also receives a personalized education plan before beginning classes at Ironwood by the academic director. According to Ironwood, more than 90 percent of students plan to attend college after attending the behavioral modification school.
The main goal of the Academy at Ivy Ridge is to foster healthy relationships through strict schedules and discipline.
Cross Creek

Cross Creek is located in Utah. This program for troubled teens accepts both junior high and high school students. The facility offers entirely separate programs for both boys and girls. The only potential meeting time between the genders occurs during supervised seminars. The programs provides daily structured schedules with programs such as individual and family therapy, physical education, personalized academic instruction and emotional development. Each student receives individual therapy with a licensed professional for one hour per week. The daily schedule also includes a mandatory 6:30 a.m. wake-up call and a 9:30 p.m. lights out policy. The team at Cross Creek guarantees positive behavioral modification results for successful graduates of the program, so if any past students relapse in behavior, they can return to the facility for a maximum of 60 days free of charge.
