Funny Survival Kits for Teachers
Teaching is a very noble, necessary and often very difficult profession. Teachers provide children with an academic education and, at times, a moral education as well. Every year, Teacher Appreciation Week is observed on the first week in May. You can show your appreciation by creating a funny "survival kit" for a teacher you know.

First Year Teacher Kit
-
This "survival kit" gift box would be presented to a first-year teacher. It could include basic supplies such as chalk or dry erase markers, a professional grade book, a package of assorted pens, file folders, a calculator (especially for math teachers), small notepad, a stress toy, earmuffs (for those times when student get very rowdy), and anything else that may be of significance to the teacher receiving the gift. Also, come up with a list of 10 funny tips for first-year teachers, such as: "Try to focus on the three students who are actually listening," and "Drink a pot of coffee everyday."
Spring Break Survival Kit
-
Many teachers still have to come to work for a few days during the school's Spring Break, so they don't actually get a real vacation. This survival kit could include a few things to simulate a mini-vacation, such as a CD of island music or beach/rainforest sounds, a postcard with the words "Don't you wish you were here?" written on the back, and a bottle of wine or a tropical drink mix.

Summer Break Survival Kit
-
Summer break is an interesting time for teachers. There are no classes, but some teachers still have to come to work or look for something else to do during the break. A summer break survival kit could include several things; a postcard, a DVD of a movie the teacher likes, a crossword puzzle (to help the teacher combat boredom), a copy of newspaper classifieds (as a joke for teachers who look for other employment during the summer), and a small box of chocolate (for a mini-vacation).
Close to Retirement Kit
-
This kit is for teachers who are retiring in the coming year or in a few years. The kit could include an energy drink, a timer (symbolizing the countdown to the actual day), a small bottle of champagne (to celebrate on the big day), a fake apple spray-painted gold, a copy of AARP magazine, and a few photos of memories from the teacher's past.
Tenure Review Survival Kit
-
One very stressful and very important period in a teacher's career is the time when he or she is eligible for tenure. A tenure review survival kit should be filled with a variety of stress toys and a CD of calming sounds and an aromatherapy candle.
