The popular vacation destination of the Florida Keys is also the location of two universities and one community college.

The Florida Keys are a popular vacation destination. The islands of Key West, Key Largo, Marathon, Big Pine Key, Islamorada and the small islands of the Lower Keys make up the Florida Keys off the south west tip of Florida. Although not well known for its higher educational institutions, the Florida Keys is home to a community college and two universities. These schools are all located on the island of Key West.

  1. Florida Keys Community College

    • Located in the National Marine Sanctuary in Key West, the Florida Keys Community College offers Associate's degrees, advanced technical diplomas, certificates and vocational training. Degrees are offered in arts, computer programming, computer technology, marine engineering, diving technology, business, marine technology and nursing. Law enforcement and corrections are offered in five different vocational courses. Certificates at this college are offered in two different areas of business, marine propulsion and addiction studies. An advanced technical diploma is offered in Emergency Medical Technician basics.

    Barry University

    • Barry University operates out of the Florida Keys Community College campus. Barry University offers over 150 Bachelor's degrees and certificates. They also offer Master's and Doctorate degrees. Specialty courses round out the graduate program at the university. Barry University is known for its Law and Podiatric Medicine courses. The university offers night an weekend classes for the working adult.

    Hodges University

    • Hodges University has two campuses in Florida as well as five learning sites. One of these learning sites is located at the Florida Keys Community College. Originally named International University, the college was renamed Hodges University after Earl and Thelma Hodges' donation to the university. Degrees offered through this university include Associate's as well as Bachelor's degrees in business, criminal justice, accounting, health and management. In total, 21 online, 11 Bachelor's, 13 Associate's and 10 graduate degrees are offered through Hodges University.

    Online Colleges

    • Many online colleges serve the Florida Keys. Some of these colleges are Cambridge College, Remington University, Strayer University and Kaplan College. Other schools, like the Keller Graduate School of Management, offer many campuses across Florida and offer the same degrees for Florida Keys students through online courses.
