Create a safari cake for a party.

When you are throwing a party with a jungle safari theme, create a cake to match the theme. Jungle cakes work for birthday parties for children or adults, a baby shower or just a simple get-together among friends. You don't need to be an expert baker to create a jungle safari-themed cake. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Animal Print

    • When a person goes on a safari, they can see lots of different types of animals, such as leopards, giraffes, tigers and zebras. Use frosting to create an animal print pattern onto the cake. Choose one type of animal print for the cake. Alternatively, create a cake with multiple layers and frost each layer with a different type of animal print.

    Safari Scene

    • Bake a rectangular sheet cake and frost it so that it looks like a safari scene. Use green frosting to create the jungle and choose blue frosting to create a river running through the jungle. Purchase plastic figurines shaped like palm trees and jungle animals to create a safari scene on the cake. Wash the figurines thoroughly before placing them on the cake.

    Animal Cake

    • Create a cake shaped like one of the animals that might be seen in a jungle or during a safari. Bake a regular-size cake and carve the animal shape out of the cake. You could also choose a pan shaped like an animal, such as an elephant. Frost the cake using icing in the color of the animal.

    Cupcakes

    • Rather than making a large jungle safari cake, create cupcakes instead. Bake cupcakes in your favorite flavor and frost them using icing that complements your party decor. Top each cupcake with an animal cracker that is shaped like a safari animal.
