The American Film Institute named the 1942 classic "Casablanca" the most romantic movie of all time. The movie, starring Humphrey Bogart, is set in unoccupied Africa during the early days of World War II, where an American expatriate happens upon a former lover. "Annie Hall," a film directed by and starring Woody Allen, also made the AFI's list of passionate classical movies and is another great date-night classic movie.

Romantic comedies can be natural ice-breakers for you and your date. "Knocked Up," a 2007 movie starring Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl, made the popular movie reviewing site Rotten Tomatoes' Best Romantic Comedies list. "Chasing Amy (1997), directed by Kevin Smith, also made Rotten Tomatoes' list. While a bit quirky, the film is "grappling with honest, human emotion."

Try Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" (1960), which is listed as the Internet Movie Database's Top-Rated Horror Titles. For something more recent to snuggle up to, watch the 2002 movie "The Ring" starring Naomi Watts. The creepy detective storyline will scare you both into each others arms.
