Iowa State University
-
Iowa State has an enrollment of 26,000 students. A $40 nonrefundable application fee must accompany your undergraduate application, and you must pay a $325 acceptance fee if your application is accepted and you choose to enroll. The university admissions web page advises prospective students to apply nine months to one year ahead of the application deadlines. The deadline for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) submissions is March 1, regardless of which semester you enter. The application deadlines for U.S. undergraduate applications are June 1 (fall semester), December 1 (spring semester), May 15 (summer session I) and June 1 (summer session II). While students have the option of printing the online application and mailing it in, the admissions office strongly recommends that applicants use the online form.

The University of Iowa has a full-time enrollment of 27,000 students and charges a nonrefundable application fee of $40. If you are admitted, an acceptance fee of $250 is due no later than May 1 for summer session and fall semester entrants, and due by November 1 for spring semester entrants. Application deadlines for U.S. undergraduates are April 1 for summer session and fall semester applicants, and November 1 for spring semester applicants. The admissions office advises prospective students to submit their FAFSA as soon as possible after the first of the year in which they plan to attend, even if the student is not certain she qualifies.

University of Northern Iowa

The University of Northern Iowa has a full-time enrollment of approximately 11,000 students. There is a nonrefundable $40 fee due with your undergraduate application. Online applicants have the choice of paying the application fee by credit card online or sending in a check by mail. Unlike the University of Iowa and Iowa State, Northern Iowa does not charge an acceptance fee and has a single deadline, August 15, for all semesters.
