Drive about eight hours north from New York, NY, and you will hit Gatineau, Quebec. Gatineau and Ottawa (Ontario) form the Ottawa-Gatineau region. The Ottawa River flows between Quebec and Ontario and is part of the border for the two provinces. The Ottawa-Gatineau region is the fourth-largest "city" in Canada and MoneySense Magazine's 2008 Best Place to Live winner.
