Niwot, Colorado, is a small town between Boulder and Longmont on Highway 119. The town was named by 19th century gold rushers after Chief Niwot of the local Arapaho tribe. Niwot continues to maintain parts of the Native American tradition through artistry and festivals, such as Nostalgia Day.
