The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) recognizes 11 law schools offering the Juris Doctor, or J.D., degree in Florida. The J.D. is a professional doctorate. Only one of the 11 law schools offering the J.D. is located in Southwest Florida: the Ave Maria School of Law. Southwest Florida spans the five coastal counties from Manatee County to Collier County. Some schools in the region offer a B.S. and an A.S. in programs of study related to law.
