Cambridge, Idaho, named after the home city of the prestigious Harvard University, is a village in Washington County with a total population of 346. The main highways serving the Cambridge community are U.S. Highway 95 and Idaho State Highway 71. As the eastern entrance to the Hells Canyon National Recreational Area, Cambridge experiences a steady stream of travelers and tourists throughout the year.

  1. Bucky's Cafe and Motel

    • Within the city limits of Cambridge, Bucky's doubles as a motel and full-service restaurant. It serves traditional American fare, featuring breakfast food and dinner options. The motel has a limited number of beds, so planning your trip ahead of time is certainly a priority.

    Frontier Motel & RV Park

    • On the southern edge of town, the Frontier Motel boasts 23 air-conditioned rooms complete with modern amenities such as wireless Internet, cable television, and in-room telephones. A laundromat, heated swimming pool and heated hot-tub are all on premises. The Frontier also provides nine RV hook-ups and free-standing restrooms and hotels for campers without water hook-ups.

    Gateway Motel, Store & Cafe

    • Just outside of town near the banks of the Snake River, the Gateway provides three different amenities: lodgings as a motel, supplies as a general store, and food as a restaurant and cafe. Gateway is the closest overnight stay to Hells Canyon. Although the Gateway only has three rooms (all non-smoking), they come equipped with VCRs and air-conditioning.

    Cambridge House Bed & Breakfast

    • Built in 1916, the Cambridge House provides a quaint, cozy experience for weary travelers looking for the comforts of home. It has five rooms with either queen or king-sized beds at affordable nightly rates. Each room has an HD television and a cable package including three movie channels, and the entire house is a wireless hot-spot. Complimentary breakfast is served every morning with eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes or waffles.
