RPG Racing Games
In RPGs, or role-playing games, players take the role of a character. Usually these games let the player customise the character in some way, from the name they have to the equipment they use and the choices they make. In recent years, racing games have started to borrow these elements, often letting players take the role of a career race driver who gains experience, fans, equipment or other features as the game progresses.

Need for Speed World
-
The first thing you do before you start your career in "Need for Speed World" is create a unique driver. Enter a name and then choose an avatar that best represents him. After this, you have $35,000 to purchase your first car. From here you must win races and events to earn "Rep." When you have enough of this, your driver will level up and unlock more events, cars and customisation options, as well as specialist driver skills to help you perform better on the track.
Blur
-
The races in "Blur" not only focus on how well you finish the race but on how destructive you are to other drivers as well. Good actions in races, such as holding pole position or using weapons against the opposition rewards you with fans. The more fans you get in each race, the more you can level up. Each new level unlocks more cars in the career mode. Experience points are earned in the online mode that you can put toward stat-enhancing equipment to boost your combat ability.

Forza Motorsport 3
-
"Forza Motorsport 3" lets the player choose race events to fill up their career calendar. When you complete an event, you gain experience points to level up your driver. With each level up to 50, the game rewards you with a new car and access to more events. Every time you use a car in a race, it also levels up. This unlocks discounts on customization parts for that car. Players earn cash from events to spend on new cars or upgrades with the extensive customization options.
Gran Turismo 5
-
The career mode in "Gran Turismo 5" comes in two versions, "A-Spec" and "B-Spec" modes. "A-Spec" mode puts players behind the wheel, competing in races to earn experience points that unlock special events and earn money for new cars and parts. "B-Spec" mode puts you in a management position of a race team that you train up to win races. Players can also improve their driving abilities with a series of "License Tests."
