Finding the right venue is important for a successful wedding.

Planning a wedding can be stressful for everyone involved, as there is limited time to get invitations out, get all necessary supplies and find the right venue. To find the right venue, the bride and groom must make sure the location meets the needs of both parties. Knowing what questions to ask prior to booking a venue is a big step in finding the right locale.

  1. Is There Enough Space?

    • Make sure that the wedding venue you choose has enough room for everything that will be going on. There needs to be room for all of the guests, beverages, reception activities, and food and cake. If you want to dance, you should make sure there is enough room for everyone to do so. If your wedding is small, you may not want too large of a venue either.

Does the Venue Mean Something to Us?

    • When booking a venue, look for a place that means something to both of you. If you are religious, consider holding your wedding in a church. You can also consider looking around for places that you both have visited regularly and see if they book weddings.

    How Much Does It Cost?

    • Check into all of the prices associated with the wedding venue. Make sure to ask a lot of questions so that you know if it costs extra to hold a reception at the venue and you know what extras are included. Some venues cater and provide music, while others do not.

    Is the Location Ideal?

    • While some venues may satisfy a lot of your requirements, make sure the location works for everyone involved. Many friends and family members may not be able to travel very far. If you are having an outdoor wedding, try to pick a place where the weather is more likely to be to your liking.

Does the Venue Match Our Colors?

    • Figure out if the look and theme of the venue will work with the colors and themes you have selected for your wedding. Make sure everything will gel together and look beautiful on your special day. If you want things to look a little bit different than they usually do at the venue, ask permission to make changes and bring in your own decorations.
