The GED (General Education Development) exam is for individuals who, for various reasons, have not obtained a high school diploma. It is a test of an individual's knowledge of the subjects of writing, reading, math, science and social studies. Testing centers for the GED are available in most towns in Texas.   1. Austin

    • Austin Community College (ACC) offers a GED testing center with a wide variety of options, including testing most days of the week, flexible hours, tests in Spanish, and accommodations for individuals with physical, learning and health disabilities.     Houston

    • Houston Community College (HCC) offers four different testing centers in the central, southeastern, northeastern and southwestern parts of the city.
