Homestar Runner Costume
-
Creating a basic Homestar Runner costume is as simple as you care to make it. Purchase a plain red shirt from a department store, or use one that you already have, and enough white material to make a 1-foot by 1-foot star. Cut out a five point star on the white material and either sew it or glue it onto the front of the plain red shirt. Purchase a blue propeller ball-cap, available at novelty and costume stores. Use red acrylic paint to color the underside of the cap. Wear white shoes and white pants to complete the costume.
Strongbad Costume
-
Strongbad has a very distinct mask which you must create to really give the genuine representation of the character. To make this mask, cover a large oblong balloon with papier mache, creating a thick shell, and allow it to dry. Remove the mask and trim the excess papier mache off of it, so the edges are smooth and rounded. Referencing a picture of Strongbad, cut two triangles in the top for eyes and a sideways oval for a mouth. Cut two small holes on either side of the mask, on level with the eyes, to string an elastic string through to hold it on your head. Paint the mask with black, red, white and light blue acrylic paint to match his markings. Allow it to dry and thread the elastic through. Add gloves for extra embellishment of the costume.

Marzipan Costume
-
Marzipan is quite simple to represent in a costume. If you have blond hair, tie it up in a high ponytail using a purple hair scrunchy. If not, purchase a wig with long blond hair and do the same. Purchase a long purple poncho and attach four to six large gold buttons to the bottom hem. Carry around a small ukulele and talk in a high voice.
The Cheat Costume
-
The Cheat is a simple costume to create with a sewing machine. Purchase lengths of leopard print fabric and matching plain yellow fabric from your local fabric store. Measure enough so that your entire body will be covered, the front with the yellow and the back with the print fabric, with some pooling at the bottom. Sew the two together to create a large sack, with the top sewn shut and the bottom open. Cut eyes in the top, measuring where your own will be when you are wearing the sack. Measure where your shoulders and arms will pop through and cut holes just large enough for your arms.
