Ensure that the correct power adapter tip is used when connecting the adapter to the computer. The adapter comes with adapter tips designed to work with the most popular computer brands and will not work with computers other than those listed. A link to the compatibility chart is provided in the Resources section.

Verify that the adapter cable is positioned so that it will not be stepped on and so that nothing is placed on top of the actual adapter. The adapter casing is specially designed to keep the unit from overheating and cannot function properly if covered. Avoid placing the adapter on surfaces such as beds, rugs or sofas.

Verify that the power adapter is only plugged into power sources compatible with the label on the adapter. The adapter is not compatible with power sources outside of North America and may be damaged if used with a foreign-use power adapter designed to convert voltages.
