Chalk is available in a variety of fun and exciting colors that make the young and young-at-heart want to create a chalk project or draw out whatever is on their mind.

  1. Colored Sand Art for Children

    • Place fine sand grains into separate containers for each color. Flake pieces of chalk into the containers, stirring to mix the color into the sand. On a poster board, draw a picture or design. Trace the outline with liquid glue and sprinkle colored sand that complements each section of the picture or design.

    Chalk Poster for Teens

    • Design a spectacular wall poster using black poster board of any size. The theme teens all relate to is "Express Yourself." Give teens a box of color and you'll be amazed. Chalk poster boards also work as a menu list at the high school sports concession or creating signs for favorite sports players.

    Chalk Stationery for Adults

    • Fill a large pan with about an inch of water. Flake different colored chalk with a knife so that small pieces of the chalk fall into the water. Don't touch these chalk pieces or they'll sink. Gently place a white stationery card or a sheet of white paper on the surface of the water and then remove it. Place the paper on a flat surface to dry. The dried paper will be beautifully splashed with pastel colors.

    Chalk Mural for the Family

    • Involve the entire family by creating a mural at home. Incorporate a theme like a fertile garden, ocean scene or jungle safari or consider drawing a family mural, including family pets. Use art paper sheeting to canvas a wall in the garage or family room. For outdoor fun in the sun, draw the mural onto the driveway or exterior wall of the house.
