Ways to Display Kindergarten Art Work for a Classroom Art Show
Fill your kindergartners with pride by organizing a class art show. Invite students to choose some of their favorite creations and design invitations to send home to families. Statues and clay pots can be spread out on tables, but drawings and paintings require more special arrangements. Display each child's art work as if your classroom is a real gallery and the children will feel like true artists.

Faux Frames
-
Cut squares of dark paper slightly larger than each piece of artwork. Tape the paper to the wall, then tape the art to the paper. This creates a picture frame and draws attention to the picture. Cut out rectangles of white paper and write each child's name in gold glitter pen. Ask the child to come up with a name for his piece, then write the name and the year underneath his name. Hang the name tag under each picture.
Collages
-
To display several pieces from one child, define a section of the wall for each child. Tape between three to five pictures in a clump. Put them as close together as possible to leave room for each child's creations. Hang each child's section at slightly different heights throughout the room for greater visual interest. Take a picture of each child and hang it above or in the center of her pictures so everyone can easily tell who the artist is.

Art Boxes
-
Cut the opening flaps off of a cardboard box, then flip it over. Cover the sides and top of the box with glue and cover them with sheets of light colored paper. If you'll be using the displays again in the future, cover the paper with contact paper or sheets of laminate for protection. Tape one piece of artwork and the child's name tag to each side of the box and set it up on a shelf, counter top or the floor.
Table Top Displays
-
To make portable displays, cut three or four pieces of cardboard to the same size. Each piece must be large enough to mount one piece of artwork. Attach one picture to each cardboard sheet, then place them art-side down on a table. Line them up, leaving a small gap in between cardboard. Use heavy-duty filament or packing tape to attach each piece to the one next to it. When you're done, stand the cardboard up and arrange the display into a zig-zag shape so it can stand on its own.
