Cincinnati Public High Schools

The Cincinnati Public School district is made up of dozens of schools and is proudly known as Ohio's highest-rated urban school district. Walnut Hills High School

Walnut Hills is known as one of America's top public schools. It is a grade 7 to 12 public college preparatory school and offers an accelerated curriculum for students as well an honors program and an advanced placement program. The fine arts department also has much to offer, including courses in music theory as well as AP art studio. The student body is diverse and consists of students from all over the Cincinnati area. All of the faculty members have Master's degrees, equivalent or above, and nine of them are National Board certified teachers. With state-of-the-art facilities and an excellent parent organization, Walnut Hills sends more than 95 percent of its graduating students to four-year colleges or universities. Walnut Hills also has plenty of clubs, organizations and extracurricular activities to choose from. Whether you're interested in playing in a steel drum band or you want to write for the school newspaper or even play softball, Walnut Hills can help you find your niche.
Clark Montessori High School

Clark Montessori High School is a grade 7 to 12 public high school. Claimed to be the first public Montessori high school in the country, Clark Montessori seeks to create a high-quality learning environment as well as a sense of community among the students. Respect, kindness and appreciation for diversity are all characteristics that Clark Montessori tries to encourage. The school has earned an excellent rating from the Ohio Department of Education, which is the highest possible rating. Academics at Clark involve an 36-week school year made up of two semesters. Students are required to obtain 24 credits before graduating, and they can select from a long list of courses ranging from finance to film production. The school also offers several athletic opportunities including bowling, basketball, volleyball, baseball and track field.

Shroder High School is another grade 7 to 12 public high school in Cincinnati. Shroder is known as a "Paidiea Learning Community," which emphasizes the growth and development of the total person, intellectually, emotionally and physically. The Paideia philosophy comes from the writings of Mortimer Adler. The school helps students meet and exceed high educational standards and uses several different types of teaching methods to help students learn and develop into active, engaged learners and thinkers. Shroder offers strong academics as well as extracurricular activities including the National Honor Society, Ambassador Club and athletic programs such as football, basketball and volleyball.
Withrow International High School

Withrow International High School is a grade 9 to 12 school. Along with an educational environment, Withrow also provides an international perspective on society. Students at Withrow come from all over the world and represent more than 37 countries spanning the entire globe. The Ohio Department of Education selected Withrow as a School of Promise in 2005 and 2007. Offering an international language program as well and international baccalaureate and international business programs, Withrow prepares its students for a global economy. The school also offers many extracurricular programs, including a marching band, drama club, student council, and athletic programs with baseball, soccer, cheerleading, football and volleyball.
