Stretches to Improve Toe Touch
Touching your toes is a good way to stretch before and after workouts. In order to perform this stretch, flexibility is key. Being able to do toe touches may take some practice, and the flexibility and mobility of your hips and hamstrings are key. Properly performing toe touches will also improve core stability and spine health.

Cheerleading Toe Touches
-
Practice doing cheerleading toe touches. This type of exercise will make it possible to improve toe touches. To execute this stretch properly, you will need to jump into the air with your legs in a "V" shape. Once in the air, try to touch your hands to the end of your feet. If that is not possible, get as close to doing so as you can.
Head to Toe
-
Head to toe stretches are done to improve flexibility. The floor version is best for beginners, but it can be done while standing as well. To execute this stretch, lie down with hands by your side and legs straight out and together. Raise up your arms and put the back of one of your hands onto the palm of the other hand. Stretch your hands as far as you possibly can, while simultaneously pointing your toes.

Straddle
-
The straddle position will get your body ready for toe touches. Stand up straight with your feet at hip-width. Bend over at the waist and extend the hands toward the floor. Alternate reaching your chest and abdomen to the ground and reaching your hands to the floor. Walk your feet apart until in a straddle position with toes pointing toward the front. Walk hands over to one leg and hold. Do the same with the other side.
Hamstring Stretches
-
Hamstring stretches are crucial for building the flexibility to perform toe touches. To do this, lie down on the floor and raise one leg up to approximately 90 degrees. Hold it straight for a few seconds, then clasp your hands behind the hamstring of that leg and pull it gently toward you while bending it. Be careful doing this exercise if you have any lower back issues.
