Easy Gifts for Valentine's Day for Kindergarten

Save

Valentine's Day often adds pressure to parents of kindergartners because they need to come up with gifts for their child to pass out at school. Valentine gifts do not need to be extravagant, but children often enjoy handing out fun gifts that they helped make. Set aside a small amount of time to create a few easy Valentine's Day gifts for kindergartners.

Chocolate Love Bugs

  • Repurpose empty toilet paper rolls for Valentine's Day by using them as a base for a love bug. Just wrap the cardboard rolls with red, white or pink construction paper. Make the love bug's face out of cardboard and decorate it with googly eyes and small heart stickers for the nose and mouth. Attach the face to the cardboard roll, then cut out and glue wings to the side of the roll. Fill the love bug with chocolate kisses and cover the end with plastic wrap to prevent the chocolate from falling out of the bug.

Bear Hugs

  • One of the easiest gifts to give in honor of Valentine's Day is bear hugs in a bag. To make the gift, trace a bear-shaped cookie cutter on brown construction paper. Then write a simple message like "I'm beary glad you are my friend" or "Valentine's Day bear hugs for you!" Punch a hole in the cutout and tie it to a piece of yarn. Tie the yarn around a plastic bag filled with teddy bear-shaped graham crackers.

Valentine Cups

  • If you are looking for a Valentine's Day idea that avoids crafting, buy Valentine-themed plastic cups and fill them with child-friendly items. Fill the cups with pencils, erasers, miniature pads of paper which are decorated with hearts, the word "love" or cupid. Place chocolate hearts or sweet and sour candy hearts in the cups for kids to snack on. Place the cups in goody bags and write each child's name on the bag and who it's from to complete the kindergarten gift.

Cake Pops

  • A simple Valentine to give kindergartners is a cake pop. To make a cake pop, bake a cake, crumble it in a bowl and stir in frosting. Shape the mixture into a ball and insert a stick into the ball. Roll the cake ball in melted white chocolate and pink heart-shaped sprinkles. Wrap the dried cake pops in plastic wrap. Finish the cake pop by attaching a gift card that says "Happy Valentine's Day" to each cake pop with ribbon.
