Problems With a Driver for V Cast Music on a V3m thumbnail
V Cast Music allows you to transfer music from the computer to the phone.

The V Cast Music software for the V3m is divided into two parts. The first part is a driver installation, and the second part is installing the actual V Cast software. There are some issues that can effect the driver. You need the correct driver for your phone and operating system, and there must be no driver conflicts or viruses.

  1. Outdated Drivers

    • Uninstall the old version of the driver from the computer through "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel. It appears on the list as "Motorola USB Driver." Install the newest driver from the Verizon Wireless V Cast drivers and software Web page (see Resources).

    Incorrect Driver

    • Verify you have the correct driver for your phone and your computer's operating system. It will show under "Add/Remove Programs" as "Motorola V3m driver." Drivers are not interchangeable. A driver for a different Motorola phone or a different version of Windows will not work.

    Driver Conflicts

    • Driver conflicts occur when two devices attached to the computer share the same IRQ request. Open the "Device Manager" screen. In Windows 7 and Vista, you will find it under "Control Panel" on the start menu. Scan through Device Manager and look for a "Motorola USB modem" icon. It may be under "Modems" or "Other devices." If there is a conflict, it will have a red "X" or yellow "!" or "?" icon next to it. Right-click on the icon and left click on "Update Driver" to start the hardware update wizard and resolve the conflict.

    Installation Problems

    • Viruses and other malicious software can cause the driver installation to fail. Update your anti-virus software and run a virus scan at least once a week.
